SCHOLARSHIP FUND
In the Gambia, many students (especially girls) leave school prematurely, primarily due to financial constraints.
In the past year, scholarships were provided to 150 needy students to further their education (50 Girls and 100 Boys).

In the coming academic year we hope to double this figure and provide for an equal number of boys and girls, depending on fund availability.

JAMMEH FOUNDATION HOSPITAL
Responding to a community appeal from the highest populated settlement in the Gambia, the Jammeh Foundation has adopted a health post in Bundung and is developing it into a small hospital.

The Hospital, situated in Bundung, was inaugurated by His Excellency the President on the 25th May 2001. The running of the Hospital is a collaborative effort of the Jammeh Foundation for Peace, the Department of State for Health and the Community of Bundung. Since the inception more than 100,000 out-patients, pregnant women and children have been treated at the hospital.

Our aim for the coming year is to provide the highly needed inpatient services. Construction of a laboratory and kitchen have started. Funds are urgently needed to construct wards and other medical facilities.

YOUTH ENTERPRISE FUND
In the coming year, the Jammeh Foundation will provide support in collaboration with youth organisations to youths who are eager to start a business or workshop but lack the starting capital. Loans and a follow-up support will be provided.
